Join the New England Eating Disorders (NEED) Program at Sweetser! As a member of the clinical team, you will provide high-quality, specialized individual, family, and group psychotherapy to adults and adolescents with eating disorders and their families. This team is highly committed to the work that they do and to one another; working for NEED is an exciting opportunity to work in a Specialized Program. This is a salaried, full-time position with full benefits, paid time off, paid training and more!

Unique Training Opportunity! This position allows the opportunity to work with an exceptional team of specialists with years of experience treating eating disorders and alongside a treatment team of expert eating disorder clinicians, dietitians, and nursing staff. You will have the unique opportunity to receive training in evidence-based treatments to this specialized population.  Training includes extensive formal and informal trainings, on-the-job observations, and weekly individual and peer supervision.

SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday, flexible schedule**

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Conducts individual, group, and family sessions utilizing appropriate psychotherapy interventions to facilitate and assist in the recovery process.
  • Consistently re-evaluates patient treatment plans based on clinical interpretation of patient response and standardized outcomes measures.  Collaboratively communicates changes in treatment plan to patient, support people, and treatment team.
  • Collaboratively and clearly communicates treatment plan and therapeutic modality to patient, support people, and treatment team.
  • Assesses patients using solid clinical judgment and interview tools.
  • Independently initiates close communication and collaboration with patients’ external treatment team. 
  • Expertly provides information about treatment services and eating disorders, and actively seeks reliable and valid psychoeducation resources to share with patients, families, and team members. 
  • Exhibits an ability to engage patients and support people using interpersonal styles appropriate for treatment modality.
  • Exhibits a conscientiousness for issues of safety, and swiftly and appropriately identifies resources for addressing issues.
  • Utilizes staff meetings and supervision effectively by participating appropriately and being prepared.
  • Recognizes and respects diversity in race, ethnicity, culture, gender, age, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, economic status, and physical ability and thoughtfully evaluates how such factors impact work.
  • Exhibits an ability to independently meet all documentation requirements within appropriate timeframes, utilizing skilled clinical writing.
  • Organizes and prioritizes workload, recognizing one’s own needs and the needs of the program.
  • Complies with professional, ethical and/or Sweetser-established standards of conduct and practice for licensure and/or position.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, conditional licensure accepted, along with licensing test candidates.  Maine license eligibility candidates encouraged to apply.  
  • Three (3) years of behavioral health counseling experience strongly preferred. 
  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree is required.
